江苏商贸职业学院是一所经江苏省人民政府批准设置的全日制普通高等学校，隶属于江苏省供销合作总社。学校与20世纪初张委先生创办的初等商业学校一脉相传；1956年名为江苏省南通区、市商业职工学校；1964年更名为南通市半工半读商业学校；196詳更名为南通市商业学校；1978年更名为江苏省南通供销学校，由市管改为省属；1992年江苏省供销合作干部学校并入；2000年开始举办五年制高等职业教育，2003年升格为江苏省南通商贸高等职业学校，同时增挂江苏 联合职业技术学院南通商贸分院校牌；2013年经江苏省人民政府批准、国家教育部备案，在原江苏联合职业技术学院南通商贸分院基础上建立江苏商贸职业学院。学校是全国供销系统示范性高职院校，全国供销行指委棉花加工与经营管理、校企合作与集团化办学两个专委会的主任单位，江苏供销合作职业教育集团暨江苏供销合作经济管理硏修学院的牵头单位。

学校占地面积502亩，规划总建筑面积32万平方米。现设有会计与金融、经济与贸易、电商与物流、电子与信息、建筑工程与管理、世博艺术与传媒等6个二级学院和基础教学部、社科教学部、体育教学部、继续教育学院，江苏省物联网与视觉智能 处理工程技术硏发中心、高职发展研究所、合作经济硏究所、农村合作金融研究所、通邦物流研究院等5个科硏机构，现代教育 技术、教师发展、学生发展、实验实训、艺术教育、通识教育等6个中心；开设的40多个高职专业，基本覆盖了江苏供销合作社及区域现代服务业主要产业和行业；建有物流、商贸、计算机、会计、金融、电子、建工等实训中心，共90个实训室，教学设备总值8000多万元；现有教师459人，外籍教师2名，高级职称占38.53%以上，“双师型”教 师占75%以上；全日制在校学生11152人。近几年，毕业生就业率一直保持在98%以上，建校以来先后为社会输送了7万多名合格毕业生。

Jiangsu Vocational College of Business is a full-time general higher education institution approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and is affiliated to the Jiangsu Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperative. The school succeeds the elementary business school founded by Mr. Zhang Wei in the early 20th century. Founded in 1956, the school was originally named Jiangsu Province Nantong District & City Commercial Employees’ School . In 1964, it was renamed as Nantong City Part-Time Business School, later in 1965, Nantong Business School and again in 1978, Jiangsu Nantong Supply and Marketing School. In the same year, the charge over the school was handed from the city to the province. The school merged with Jiangsu Province Supply and Marketing Cooperation Cadre School and five-year higher vocational education was held since 2000. In 2003, the school was upgraded to Jiangsu Nantong Commercial Vocational College with an additional name-- Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College Nantong Commercial Branch. 2013, approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and filed by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Vocational College of Business was established on the basis of the former Nantong Commercial Branch of Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College. The school is a model higher vocational college of the national supply and marketing system. Meanwhile, it plays the roles of The National Supply and Marketing Industry Steering Committee of cotton processing and management, the director unit of two professional committees, namely school-enterprise cooperation and group school running. Moreover, it is the lead unit of Jiangsu Supply and Marketing Cooperation Vocational Education Group as well as Jiangsu Supply and Marketing Cooperation Economic Management School.

The school takes up an area of 502 mu and the planning gross building area is 320,000 m2 . Apart from the Department of Basic Courses, the Department of Social Sciences, the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Continuing Education, the school also has six secondary colleges-- Accounting and Finance Department, Economics and Trade Department, Electronic Commerce and Logistics Department, Electronics and Information Department, Constructional Engineering and Management Department, as well as Expo Arts and Media Department. We also have five scientific institutes and six centers, namely Jiangsu Province Internet of Things and Visual Intelligent Processing Engineering Technology Development Center, Higher Vocational Development Research Institute, Cooperative Economic Research Institute, Rural Cooperative Finance Research Institute, Tongbang Logistics Research Institute, Modern education Technology, Teacher Development , Student Development, Experiment & Training, Art Education, General Education. The forty-something advanced vocational majors provided by the college have generally covered the main fields in the modern service industry of Jiangsu Supply and Marketing General Cooperative. Besides, we have training centers for accounting and finance, trade, logistics, IOT & software, constructional engineering, electronics, and art design, including 90 training rooms and the total value of teaching equipment is over RMB 80 million. The current number of staff is 459, including 405 Chinese teachers and 2 foreign teachers, with more than 38.53% possessing advanced professional titles and over 75% holding double professional certificates. We have 11,152 full-time students. In recent years, the employment rate of our graduates has remained above 98%. More than 70,000 qualified graduates have been delivered to the society since the foundation of the school.

In the past 60 years since its birth, upholding the school motto of “ virtue and inspiration, unity of knowledge and action” , the school has shaped its spirit of running the school, which is “to remind ourselves of pressure, stay united and strive hard, make innovations, be willing to make contributions”. Meanwhile, the school has established a management strategy of integrating the three elements of environment, objectives and competence into one and formed the concept of “running the college beyond campus, serving development and strengthening connotation”. So far, the school has been recognized as one of the first national bases for logistics vocational education, a national talent cultivation base for international business, the first batch of vocational education technology absent research bases in Jiangsu Province, a business talent training& service platform in Jiangsu Province, a modern service public training base in Nantong City. Moreover, we have been granted the honors such as Advanced Collective in the national marketing and supply cooperative system, National Resource-Conserving Pubic Institution Demonstration Unit, Advanced Unit of Vocational Education and Social Education in Jiangsu Province.
